Video projects and adding footage

One project per video. Upload clips from your phone or camera, import a link, record, or start from product photos.

The editor: the tools on the left (Media, Text, Subtitles, Music, Look), the picture with the timeline underneath, and the AI editor on the right.

Easy or Full editor

A project opens in Easy: your video on the left, one step at a time on the right. Add your video, pick a look (each shown on your own video), check the plan, then download or post your reel. The plan shows what you said: struck-through words are cut and a red mark is a pause taken out. Nothing is made until you press Make my reel. Switch to Full editor at the top right for the timeline and every tool; the app remembers which one you use.

Projects

Each video is a project. It holds your clips (what you recorded or uploaded), the cut, captions, music and every version you export. Your originals are never changed. Switch projects from the name at the top left. A deleted project goes to Recently deleted and can be restored for 30 days.

Uploading big files

Uploads go up in small pieces. If your Wi-Fi drops or the laptop sleeps, the upload carries on where it stopped when the connection is back. If you reload the page or close the tab, Creators Master remembers the file: pick the same file again and it continues from where it stopped, instead of starting over.

Start editing before the upload finishes

For a file over 300 MB, Chrome and Edge first make a small copy (720p) on your computer and send that. In a minute or two you can turn the speech into text and cut. The clip shows a small copy badge. The full-quality original keeps uploading and replaces the small copy on its own, keeping your cut. Videos made before then are lower quality.

Paste a direct link to a video file (ending in .mp4, .mov and so on) into the box under the upload area. Web pages such as a YouTube watch page don't work: the link must be the file itself.

Pick the best takes

Recorded the same lines two, three or five times? Upload all the takes, open Media and press Pick the best takes, then Compare my takes. Each line of your script is compared across the takes and given a score out of 100 with the reason: um and uh, a stumble, a long pause, missing words, too slow or rushed, or your face out of the picture.

  1. The best version of every line is already picked (shown with a tick). Press ▶ on any version to hear it.
  2. Click another version to use it instead.
  3. Clips that don't match the others (extra footage) are added after, unless you switch that off.
  4. Press Make the cut from these. Undo in the editor brings the cut before back.
Each line, every take's version, its score and why. The best is ticked; click another to use it.
